October 7 - 8, 2013 - Buenos Aires to Iguazu, Argentina

October 7, 2013 - Buenos Aires, Argentina

We wandered through town again on our own city tour.  We also walked all the way to a restaurant we wanted to eat at just to find out that it was closed on Mondays. Ha.  But we settled on El Palacio de las papas fritas (Palace of french fries!).  They are known for there puffy fries.  And they were tasty!  We also had to make our way to the bus station to hopefully change our return ticket from Iguazu to a day earlier.  Thankfully, that was easy and fee free.  We will now have a day to visit Uruguay when we return from the falls.

October 8, 2013 - BA to Iguazu, Argentina

At 8:45pm on the 7th we took the night bus to Iguazu Falls an intended 18 hour journey.  A round trip ticket cost us 1224Pesos per ticket.  Quite a hefty increase from Bolivia.  The same ride in Bolivia would have cost a tenth the price.  Though it would not have been nearly as comfortable nor the food as tasty....if there had been any food at all.  We were very impressed with the Via Bariloche bus.  Dinner was tasty and they served free wine.  We also go breakfast and coffee the next morning.

Unfortunately, we had a 3 hour delay while we waited for a service truck to replace a part.  But as soon as that was done we were on the road again. Here is Alene looking very upset about our broken bus. hehe

We arrived in Iguazu about 4 hours behind and where not able to visit the falls for a half day like originally planned.  However,  the hostel staff assured us that we could see everything on the Argentina side in one day.  After checking in we went for food (of course). We were starving.  We had been served breakfast but since we were supposed to arrive at lunch time no other food was served and it was almost 5pm now.

We played cards and had another early night in so we could get up bright an early to head to the Iguazu park.
