September 23 - 24, 2013 - Isla Del Sol, Lake Titicaca, Bolivia
It was a 4 hour ride to back to Copacabana. We had lunch then caught a boat to Isla Del Sol.
This island is very similar to the other islands I have visited in Lake Titicaca. Once we arrived we carried our bags up the hundreds of steps and to our hostel for the night.
After a short break our guide took us to some ancient ruins where we got a little history and walked around.
That night we had a quite dinner in our hostel and played some cards with our guide Andre.
Sept 24, 2013:
We rose early and had a breakfast then gathered up all our things and headed towards the other end of the island. After about 2hours of hiking we arrived at more ruins.
One was an old building/labyrinth where the people used to hide their gold.
The other was the area of sacrifice. This is where they used to sacrifice people to the gods.
This rock is supposed to look like a puma?!
We finished up our hike in small town with a port. After lunch we caught the boat back to Copacabana and then a minibus to La Paz.
Lake Titicaca is BEAUTIFUL. And sunshiny! Love it.
