October 11, 2013 - Colonia, Uruguay
On the 11th Alene and I took a ferry from Buenos Aires to Colonia, Uruguay. It was only a 1 hour ride but the waters were REALLY rough. Lots of folks ended up seasick. Fortunately, I dont have motion sickness issues and I just slept the whole way. But the rough seas and perhaps a combination of other things left Alene feelings less than 100%.
After an hour or two though and after narrowly escaping death from a crazy driver, she was good as new. Though she did feed the dogs her breakfast. Lol (she is gonna reallllly love that Ive added this to the blog).
Anyways, Colonia has a SUPER cute historical area and we spent the day wandering around and looking at the sights.
The town has left old cars in many different spots and has decorated them or put plants in them.
And of course we ate.
Then we climbed the light house.
AND THEN we rented a golf cart/mule. Haha. How could we turn down the opportunity to drive a golf cart on major roads for just $10/hr?!?!? We had a great time navigating through town seeing some of the sights further away.
