This was a quite stop over on a lagoon. Alene and I rented bikes to ride around town. The lagoon was beautful. We rode first to a restaurant to make dinner reservations becasse it was half price sushi night!!!! Then we rode out to "The Heads" aka the cliffs where you can see the inlet from the ocean to the lagoon. Wow!!! For one the bike ride up was pretty intense and at the very end it was so steep we had to push the bikes up to rest of the way. However, the view was spectacular! Huge waves were crashing into the rocks below and churning up sand from the bottom giving the ocean a brown color in some spots. We sat and admired the view for a while. Then we rode all the way back down the mountain. This was way more fun than trying to ride back up. At the bottom we rode over to a little island and tried to lay out on the beach. Unfortunately, it was a bit cold and way too windy...the sand was sand blasting us so we only stayed for about 30 min. We then just rode back to the bike shop, turned in the bikes, then had lunch.
What I have learned:
There is a difference between mountain biking and riding your bike up a mountain.
Fried food is perfect after riding your bike up said mountain.
